Active Release Technique - ART:

ART- Active Release Technique is an innovative chiropractic procedure that allows the doctor to diagnose and treat the underlying causes of cumulative trauma disorders. In addition, ART actually alters your internal tissue structure by breaking up fiberous adhesions and restoring normal function to soft-tissue areas. Finally, ART treatments also rely on precise protocols, specifically tailored to your needs. Using a combination of pressure, tension, and motion ART forces the muscles and tissue to begin working properly again by restoring range of motion, relieving pain, and stress.

The ML830 Cold Laser:

ML830 Laser is a non-thermal laser capable of penetrating deep into tissue. Once delivered, the light energy promotes the process of healing. When low level laser light waves penetrate deeply into the skin, they optimize the immune response of our blood. This has anti-inflammatory and immune-stimulate benefits. It is a scientific fact that light transmitted to the blood rewards the whole body by supplying vital oxygen and energy to every cell.

The MicroLight 830 has FDA approval for the treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome:

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the number one repetitive stress injury in America today and is a leading cause of worker lost time and disability. More than one million Americans acquire CTS symptoms each year, and over 200,000 surgical procedures are performed in the treatment of CTS.

Although CTS can begin suddenly, its onset is usually gradual. If not treated, CTS may lead to reduced hand function with possible permanent nerve and muscle damage. With early diagnosis and treatment, however, complete recovery usually occurs. Anything that causes swelling of the synovium that surrounds wrist tendons, or produces repeated pressure on the median nerve, can lead to CTS or make it worse if the condition already exists.

Benefits of ML830 Lasers:
  • Relieves Acute and Chronic Pains
  • Increases Blood Supply
  • Helps Generate New and Healthy Cells and Tissues
  • Promotes Faster Wound Healing
Electrical Muscle Stimulation:

Electrical muscle stimulation or EMS, also known as neuromuscular electrical stimulation is the extraction of muscle contraction using electric impulses. EMS has the potential to serve as a strength training tool for healthy adults as well as a rehabilitation and preventive tool for partially or totally immobilized patients.

EMS can also be utilized as a testing tool for evaluating the neural and/or muscular function for athletes. During EMS therapy electrical impulses are generated by a device and delivered through electrodes on the skin in direct proximity to the muscles to be stimulated. The impulses mimic the action potential coming from the central nervous system, causing the muscles to contract. The electrodes are generally pads that adhere to the skin.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation is a great therapy if there is a spasm in a back or neck muscle. It works well in relaxing the muscle and allowing it to return to its normal state rather quickly. Short therapy sessions are excellent at for the beginning stages of healing from acute and chronic pain.

Soft Tissue Therapy:

Soft tissue therapy is a deep muscle massage that is used to help relieve pain, tension and reduce scar tissue. This is often used prior to an adjustment to help the patient relax. This therapy is performed by applying a warming cream to the muscle in question then applying pressure with the hands or fingers and sliding along the muscle fibers or in a cross wise direction.

Ultrasound Therapy:

Ultrasound Therapy is used to minimize muscle pain and movement dysfunction. Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound waves to deliver deep heat to the treated tissues. The treatments may help reduce stiffness, swelling, and pain, increase circulation, and promote pain-free movement. Ultrasound therapy may be used alone or in conjunction with stretching, therapeutic massage, heat, or gentle chiropractic manipulation. Ultrasound therapy is a painless procedure, and many people find it relaxing.

Myofascial Release Therapy:

Myofascial Release is an extremely effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue to eliminate pain and restore motion.

Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that produce tension pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch. These tension pressure points will usually not show up in many of the standard tests such as x-rays, myelograms, CAT scans, electromyography, etc.

The use of Myofascial Release allows the doctor to look at each patient as a unique individual. Our one-on-one therapy sessions are hands-on treatments during which our therapists use a variety of Myofascial Release techniques and movement therapy. Dr. Cameron will also promote his Myofascial Release therapy patient to total independence through education in proper body mechanics and movement, self treatment instruction, enhancement of strength, improved flexibility, and postural and movement awareness.

Activator Techniques:

The Activator Technique is a gentle, low-force approach to chiropractic care. The technique has been used safely on patients of all ages since the late 1960s ad has brought relief to many who suffer from a wide variety of health concerns.

The Activator Technique incorporates the latest advances in orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic examinations, by administering spinal adjustments that use a research-based analysis and the Activator Adjusting Instrument to restore spinal balance safely and comfortably.

Because of its effectiveness and gentle nature, the Activator Technique has become the world’s most widely-used instrument chiropractic technique.

The Gonstead Technique:

Established in 1923 by Dr. Clarence Gonstead the Gonstead system of chiropractic is the standard in "hands on" spinal adjusting. The Gonstead Method differs from other approaches because if offers a thorough analysis of a patient’s spine that encompasses five areas:

  • Visualization, which cross reference all findings in a patient's posture and movement which could indicate problems.
  • Instrumentation through the use of the Nervoscope, a device which detects uneven distributions of heat along the spine which alerts chiropractors to inflammation and nerve pressure.
  • Static Palpation, a feeling of the spine that detects problems.
  • Motion Palpation – This also involves feeling the spine as it moves in different directions.
  • X-Ray Analysis
The Gonstead adjustment is given with care to only the problem areas of the spine. The specific adjustments help return the spinal joints to their proper position and motion resulting in proper nerve functioning and improved health.
